Biking For Kathleen Kalpin Cobbledick Scholarship Fund

Last August 2016, over 50 participants biked the Clinton River Trail in memory of Kathy Kalpin Cobbledick to help raise funds for the Kathleen Kalpin Cobbledick ’83 Endowed Scholarship Fund. The feedback about the trail and the family fun was overwhelmingly positive. The event was kept very simple, which enabled us to raise over $9,000 for the scholarship which provides tuition assistance for an 8th grade student demonstrating Christian service, reflecting the same attributes of Kathy’s life of service. If you enjoyed the ride last year, please spread the word. If you missed it last year, please join us!

The funds raised over the past three years have helped in awarding scholarship and tuition assistance to three recipients in the amount of $1,500 for one year for each student. Shrine has been blessed to be the beneficiary of your most generous support. In addition, the generosity of the Kalpin, O’Brien and Cobbledick families and their extended families has additionally funded the scholarship. Over 180 individuals have supported the Kathy Kalpin Cobbledick ’83 Endowed Scholarship Fund. Funds raised from this event this year will give us the opportunity to provide a second tuition assistance scholarship to a current student.

This year the bike ride will take place August 26, 2017 beginning at 8:30 AM from at the Clinton River Trail Leach Road Trailhead. The distance will again vary from novice to more experienced led by ‘captains’. The bike event is designed for all ages. Our goal is to build comradery, raise funds to continue Christian education and / or encourage exercise for the more aggressive bikers on the fantastic bike trail.

The recommended donation is $20 per family.  Please click on the following link to donate/register:
