Shrine Catholic High School Announce New Tennis Coach


Shrine Catholic Hires New Varsity Girls’ Tennis Coach

(ROYAL OAK)– Shrine Catholic High School announced today the hiring of Keri Pilkey-Thompson as the head girls’ varsity tennis coach.

Coach Pilkey-Thompson comes to Shrine after coaching at Derby Middle School for 9 years.  Keri is also a teaching pro at the Birmingham Racquet Club.  She is a graduate from Jackson Lumen Christi where she was the #1 singles state champion in 1999 and 2000.  She continued her education at Michigan State University where she played #1 singles and was the captain of the tennis team.

“We are extremely excited to have Keri on staff.” said Athletic Director John Goddard. “She will bring solid experience and a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to our program.”

When the tennis season opens on March 13th,  Shrine will be defending their back to back Catholic High School League Championship title. The team competes in the Catholic High School League, as part of the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
