(ROYAL OAK) Shrine Schools and Parish are hosting its 2nd Annual Sporting Clays Classic on Thursday, October 6th at the Michigan Shooting Center in Lake Orion with registration opening at 11:30 am.

Event organizer, Mike Maceroni explains, “We started the event last year because there are a lot of members of our church and school community who are avid hunters or had enjoyed hunting. We also found hunting and shooting clays is very generational and provides an opportunity for families to participate together.”

The first event, hosted in 2015 had 54 attendees and this year looks to be just as successful. Whether attendees are experts or novices, it blends competition with fellowship, food and prizes for all.

Says Maceroni, “We’ve found these parish members want to help and support the schools, Church and our community. This event is so unique; they also bring friends outside of the Shrine parish to participate.”

The funds generated will provide multi-faceted results for both the School & Church — keeping tuition prices reasonable by providing financial assistance, continuing the ongoing maintenance of our facilities and grounds and supporting the fiscal strength of our Catholic community.
