“There isn’t a school in the Catholic League that supports their athletic teams like the student body at Shrine Catholic,” commented Vic Michaels, Director of the Catholic High School League. “The enthusiastic fans that showed up at both the boys and girls basketball finals showed everyone in attendance how close knit the Shrine community must be.”

With the many accomplishments during their time at Shrine, our graduates often pursue their athletic gifts at their chosen colleges and universities. Click here to view our alumni athlete accomplishments.
In 2009 the Shrine Knight Hall of Fame was established to recognize individuals who are influential in the Knight tradition of excellence and have had extraordinary accomplishments in athletics. The Hall of Fame seeks to honor athletes worthy of recognition by being examples for others to emulate and coaches and other members of our community who provided exemplary service to support Shrine athletes and athletic programs over the years.

The S-Club Alumni Chapter of the Shrine High School Alumni Association is open to all former Shrine athletes, its managers, trainers and statisticians. The S-Club provides the opportunity for Shrine athletes to maintain relationships across different sports, generations and geographical locations, and allows them to remain actively involved in Shrine Athletics.
Membership Dues help to sponsor our S-Club sponsored events for home football and basketball games, reunions and summer weekend events.

SoulCore
SoulCore is a ministry of movement, healing the mind, body, and soul through exercise and praying the Rosary. It is a gentle invitation to integrate the body and soul through prayer, fully orienting the mind and heart toward Christ through the prayer given to us by Our Lady. Exercises include core-strengthening, stretching, and functional movement, and has regular floor mat classes, easily adaptable for most fitness levels. Classes also involve a relaxing sensory experience combining candlelight, music, Scripture, and reflections that encourage deeper meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary. Note that SoulCore is not yoga, nor are yoga poses or Sanskrit referenced at any time. Movements include some basic stretches to warm up the body while reciting the Apostles Creed. Push-ups are done throughout each of the Our Father’s, and movements vary for each of the Hail Mary’s. A stretching position of surrender brings us to each Glory Be. Each movement is simply an invitation to engage the body in prayer. We encourage you to always honor your body by moving at your own pace and within your own abilities on any given day. We are beings of both body and spirit, and we experience the need to translate our feelings externally through the healing power of movement. It is not necessary to pre-register, but plan to arrive 15 minutes to fill out forms. Bring a mat for any mat classes, and you have the option to bring light hand weights, water, and a towel for all classes. Classes meet in the Shrine Conference Center (occasionally class is moved to Youth Room). For more information, email Susan Niehaus at soulcore@shrinechurch.com, or visit www.soulcore.com.
