Senior Katrina Shammami won the prestigious Centralis Gold Scholarship at Central Michigan University for 2026.
This full-tuition scholarship, along with an additional $5,000 to study abroad, is awarded based on merit, academic achievement, and recommendation. Shammami was selected from over 1,000 applicants.
In order to earn this incredible honor, Shammami participated in an in-person essay competition, completed a creative project, and excelled in her interview — showcasing her passion for lifelong learning.
She’ll be joining the CMU Honors College this fall, majoring in photojournalism and minoring in sports communication and American Sign Language. She plans to work in sports media and become a professional sports photographer.
Shrine will miss her photographing on our sidelines, but we can’t wait to watch her shine post Shrine.
