Shrine is proud to announce that three seniors — Alex Paisley, Michael McGavin, and Annie Decoster — have been officially recognized as National Merit Finalists. This prestigious honor is achieved by less than 1% of high school seniors nationwide, making their accomplishment even more remarkable.
Having three students in a graduating class earn this distinction is an extraordinary achievement. Their dedication and hard work reflect the academic excellence of Shrine Catholic Schools.
The National Merit Scholarship Program determined which of the 16,000 semifinalists met all of the requirements to be named finalists in the running for National Merit Scholarship Awards in 2025.
The annual academic competition among high school students and college undergraduates began in 1955 and is run by the nonprofit National Merit Scholarship Corp.
