On March 4, Fentanyl Fathers — grieving parents who lost their teens and young adults to fentanyl poisoning — shared their stories with Shrine High School students and parents, bringing urgent awareness to the fentanyl crisis. Their message was clear: This can happen to anyone.
Parents gathered for a night session at the basilica, while high school students attended an assembly at school for an honest and eye-opening discussion. Students walked away with a deeper understanding of the real dangers of drugs, and parents were reminded of the importance of tough but necessary conversations. Both events were emotional — and lifesaving.
Shrine is grateful for Fentanyl Fathers and their courage in turning loss into education. For more on the group, visit https://fentanylfathers.org.
