Your gift supports Shrine Parish Catholic Schools’ Philosophy to teach and model Christ-centered values. In partnership with our families, we provide academic excellence and discipline and develop the dignity of each individual within a strong Catholic faith community.
Remember, all gifts, both large and small are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your continued support of Shrine Catholic Schools.
All raffle funds help support the continuing improvement of all three Shrine schools and benefit over 1,100 students, providing them with technology updates and building upgrades. Your financial support invests in our young Knights as they grow to be leaders in our community.
There are many ways to help:
Many individuals have been influential in the Knight tradition of athletic excellence and have had exemplary accomplishments on the athletic fields. The Hall of Fame seeks to honor the contributions and accomplishments of these individuals who are worthy of recognition as examples for others to emulate. In addition to Shrine Knight Athletes, our organization seeks to honor coaches and other members of our community who have provided tremendous service to support our athletic programs over the years. Every year alumni and friends of Shrine Catholic High School gather to help raise money to support the scholarship and tuition assistance fund.
This is a 5K run and a 1.5 mile walk through the neighborhoods bordering the National Shrine of the Little Flower. Spearheaded by the parish development office, the run is to help raise awareness of the importance of exercise and healthy life styles, and at the same time to revitalize the sense of Shrine Parish Community. Therefore, we encourage everyone in this community to participate by running, walking, volunteering, or simply cheering on participants!
To assist the continued growth of our parish community, the proceeds from Shrine Catholic’s Step by Step Run will be directed to the upgrades and maintenance of the athletic facilities at the schools, as well as the purchase of athletic/physical education equipment. Ways to Give to Shrine Catholic Schools
All gifts made to Shrine Catholic Schools are vital to the advancement of our mission. Gifts made to the annual fund provide unrestricted support for our schools. Donations can also be made directly for tuition assistance, named scholarships, technology improvements and other programming. Gifts can be made to Shrine Catholic Schools or specifically to the Grade School, Academy or High School
Please consider the following options before making a gift:
Cash gifts can be made through credit/debit card transactions, cash and personal checks, cashier’s checks, money orders made payable to Shrine Catholic Schools or specifically Shrine Catholic High School and Academy or Shrine Catholic Grade School.
Matching gifts through your employer helps make your donation to Shrine Catholic Schools go farther. Matching gift programs offered through participating companies usually match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in employees’ personal philanthropy. Most participating employers have matching-gift forms which should be filled out and then sent to the Shrine Advancement Office with your contribution.
Donations can be made with tangible items such as computers, office or athletic equipment, books or other items related to education. The Shrine Advancement Office can help you determine the acceptability of gifts as well as potential tax benefits and implications of gifts in-kind.
You can remember Shrine Catholic Schools by leaving a gift in your will or estate plan. Making a planned gift may allow you to give more than you ever thought possible and, at the same time, you may experience tax advantages or income for a number of years or life. Please contact the Advancement Office for more information regarding planned gifts.
If you hold securities that would incur a tax on capital gains if sold, your outright gift to Shrine Catholic Schools could mean significant savings. You obtain a tax deduction for the full market value of the gift, and you may avoid a tax on the increase in value.
Consider a gift to Shrine Catholic Schools in your plans if your class is hosting a reunion.
Consider setting up a recurring gift with your bank.
Your donation of time is also a valuable contribution to Shrine Catholic Schools! We always welcome your assistance and support.

Shrine Schools have always had an athletic legacy that is unique. Through the years we have excelled in athletics and been pioneers in sports such as track, baseball, and softball without having our own diamonds or track. Twice in our history, in the 1960’s and again in the 1990’s, parents, coaches alumni, friends and benefactors stepped up to provide athletic fields for our young people.
The Time Is Now to upgrade these facilities and with the support of alumni, parents, friends and benefactors we will be able to provide an outstanding outdoor athletic complex including: synthetic turf field for soccer, lacrosse and football; a synthetic turf practice field, baseball/softball practice area with a two-lane practice track; permanent lights and sound system; a new concession and meeting room building with restrooms; expanded stadium seating and a new access route on to Yorba Linda for safer exiting by drivers.
Participation in Shrine athletics provides our students opportunities to demonstrate heroic possibility. Athletics challenge us to run faster, work harder and to stretch beyond the limits we sometimes set for ourselves.
How will we respond to a challenge, a failure or even a major health crisis? How will we respond to the challenge of supporting the efforts to build this new athletic complex for Shrine students? Do we and will we respond with generosity, grace, heroic virtue, tenacity, perseverance, joy and hope?
The way we respond now will leave a legacy for our students of today as well as future generations…
THE TIME IS NOW…

“Many dedicated athletes were choir members and in the musicals. All the coaches were supportive of the athletic performers. I have such great memories! Students who participate in extra-curricular activities, like sports and the arts, feel more connected to their school community and do better in their studies. Shrine is a really special place because the whole person is educated during classes and after school. But kids need workable, safe places to practice and play. The new field will be used by students in the High School, the Academy, boys and girls in the CYO for the many different sports that kids love and need to be healthy and feel part of their school and parish community. Just like the arts do. Shrine has always given a full and well rounded education to each young person, so please, join me in supporting the new athletic field!”
~Mary Rashid, former Choir Director
“Shrine has produced great leaders in many fields including academia, entertainment and business. Shrine lit a spark of excellence that has lasted my lifetime. The time is now for the new Shrine HS Athletic Field and I am proud to support the effort!”
~Ken Caratelli, Class of 1968
“This Athletic Field initiative will keep Shrine competitive and provide play and practice opportunities for young men and women students in so many sports. The “Time Is Now” and I am proud to be a part of this effort.”
~John Wangler, Class of 1976
